External independent testing has started in Kharkiv today. More than 18 thousand high school students were taking it. 11 thousand of them are those finishing school. Another 7 – those who had finished school a couple years ago. Today is the first testing in Ukrainian language and literature. According to the results of all the tests these children will be able to enter universities and institutes.
The testing procedure reminds the election process. Tests were closed for public.
Participants were supposed to arrive to stations where tests were to be taken with invitation, ID and a black ink pen.
At school № 5, where MediaPort correspondent had been before the beginning, the tests began on time. First all the participants checked themselves in the lists, after that they were told which class they were to take tests. The places were chosen by computer program. In case it chose by chance a pupil and a teacher of the same school, the place was changed.
In the classes passport data was verified with the one indicated in the invitation and registration card.
Right in 11.00 (local time) the classes verified the time and the tests began. There were two instructors in each room. First they told the enrollees the rules, after that they tore open envelops with coded blanks for the test. Each form was personal. Later, behind the closed doors already, papers with the task were given out.
In 14.30 the brain storm finished. After the ending three pupils are to stay in the class. They are supposed to sign a protocol and confirm that instructors changed nothing in the forms of other pupils.
All the bins with the tests were under security’s surveillance. Police and medical men were on duty at all the stations of external testing.
The testing covered 3 thousand teachers. 55 testing stations work in Kharkiv region.
State Automobile Inspection has worked out a special scheme of road traffic, so that nobody was late for the testing. SAI workers were to ensure parking around a station of testing, the official website of city council reports.
Organizers of the external independent testing believed that these tests would prevent corruption while entering higher education institutions. According to poll aired by MediaPort agency earlier, higher education corruption is the third most spread after SAI and court system in Ukraine.
