The representative of Ukraine Nataliya Shmarenkova – singer known as Kamalia won the final of the beauty contest Missis World 2008 held in Russian city of Kaliningrad. She received the main prize of the contest – a diamond diadem.
The representative from Singapore Colin Francisca-Mason took the first vice-miss title, while the second vice-miss became Yekaterina Ganago, A Byelorussian now living in the United States.
Contestants from 40 countries of the world took part in the show.
Missis World is a beauty contest where married women over 18 yeas old from all around the world are rivals. The contest was made up 30 years ago by American businessman David Marmel. Getting divorced are tabooed for the holder of the Missis World title throughout a year. If she still does so, she will be deprived from her title. The next to receive the diadem is vice-miss.
The mission of the contest is to attract public attention to family values significance. In last year’s contest held in Sochi the crown was won by an American Diane Tucker.
