Since the beginning of the year 53 children have been adopted in Kharkiv region, while another 58 children have got new families: they have been adopted by foster-parents or taken by family houses. Head of children department of the regional state administration Natalya Pecherskykh said about it.
Out of 53 children adopted this year 33 children have stayed in Ukraine, other have found new parents in Italy, Spain and USA.
Natalya Pecherskykh also noted that Ukrainians as a rule adopt little children, no older than 3-4 years. Foreign families prefer elder children. To her words, there has been a case when a foreign family adopted 15-year-old teenage.
