Fourteen blind Kharkovians - participants of “Mounting of Tolerance” action settled at Hoverla’s foot on Thursday. The team is planning to climb the mountain on Saturday or Sunday – everything depends upon weather. In the meantime it is quite foggy and slippery in the mountains – it is too dangerous to start climbing right now.
10 coaches – they are professional alpinista-Kharkovians - train and accompany unusual alpinists. As journalist Volodymyr Noskov, one of the participants of the climbing, told to MediaPort, alpinists have their first training in the mountains on Friday morning.
Volodymyr Noskov, a participant of the climbing (by telephone from the Carpathian mountains): “We have taken all the equipment necessary, special gloves, masks, that is we took everything. We were told how to put on clothes correctly. But all in all, everything depends on weather”.
Blind Alpinists want that their climbing is recorded to World Guiness Record Book. They are sure: such event has never happened before.
