Official results of City Council election became known today. As the Head of the Regional Election Commission Nikolay Seleznyov reported, 7 parties overcame the three-percent barrier. First place took the Party of Regions as it did on Parliament election. Its representatives will receive 83 mandates in new City Council.
Block of Yulia Timoshenko is on the second place with 21 mandates, “People’s Union ‘Our Ukraine” is the third with 12 places. Communists and Vitrenko’s people would have 10 voices in the City Council each. 7 deputies would represent in new City Council the parties “Viche” and “Vidrodzhennya”.
“Regionals” were saying on numerous occasions that they plan on the very first session of the City Council the censure motion to the current Governor, member of “Our Ukraine” Arsen Avakov, if he not hand in resignation. “Regionals” can’t carry out such decision at single because they have only 83 voices from necessary 100.
However, the date of the first session is not pointed yet. The only thing that the head of the Regional Election Commission Nikolay Seleznyov can say is that session would run till April 23.
Nikolay Seleznyov, the head of the Regional Election Commission: “Our next action would be the registration of the deputies on the ground of existing documents. If 20 days pass and they do not apply documents, the law says that they refuse their mandates”.
