Regional election commission would re-count the votes for the parties that pretend for places in the Regional Council. Regional election commission decided to recheck the results of the voting on all districts today. The reason is that commission received dozens of complains from participants of electoral process.
The decision is to delay the announcement of the Regional Council voting results and re-count the votes on all districts. The items on agenda are sounding and the session is nervous. The parties complain on the counting of votes. For example, in one of the Pervomaysky district villages 975 peoples voted, 978 of them for the Party of Regions.
Viktor Subbotin, the head of the regional organization of the SPU: There are instances when all the members of election commission first signed the protocol and after that all that is left to do was to write in the results of voting.
The head of the regional election commission Nikolay Seleznyov says that there are two variants either to re-count the votes on single districts where the violations were fixed or re-count all the ballots. The commission adopts the last decision by common consent with general approval.
The only contra this decision is the Party of Regions. Representative of this party Anatoly Vinnik doubts the correctness of re-count.
Anatoly Vinnik, the representative of the Party of Regions in the City election Commission: This is just the play of time, I dont know who can inure this but it seems to me that it wouldnt harm the Party of Regions. It could be so that after re-count we got more votes.
The Regional Election Commission starts re-counting on Monday in the presence of district and territorial commissions.
There are 1712 districts in Kharkiv region. Every district contains minimum 2 thousand electors. At all this is almost 3,5 million of ballots. The members of commission cant even suppose when the final results of the Regional Council election would be known.
