The People’s block of Litvin and joined to it socialists and greens demand to declare invalid the election to Kharkiv City Council and district councils. On their opinion, the violations were committed during the voting and counting on the districts that significantly influenced the results of election. Today the local court of Kyivsky district was considering the appeal of elections in Kyivsky district council.
Today Kyivsky court is in the spotlight of political life. Greens, socialists and “narodniks” who lost in election demand the repeated voting.
Representatives of Kyivsky territorial election commission did not come to the sitting of court. Complain considering started without them. The law gives five days for all the trial. “Narodniks” say that they turned to the court because of large-scale violations in voting and counting the voices. As they say, on March 26 there were no lists of candidates to the district councils on districts, people because of queues voted not in cabins and the members of commission after closing the districts interrupted sessions and even came out the districts.
Yury Barabash, the representative of the People’s block of Litvin: “We think that these violations influenced essentially not only the process of will expression but also the voting results. That’s why we are trying now in the court instances to right a wrong”.
On the opinion of the complainants, it means at least the ballots rechecking. As maximum, the election could be declared invalid.
