One third of voters in the lists of one of the districts in Kyivsky area were born in one day. The year of birth, names and surnames of the people living in this district are true but the date of birth is one for everybody – January 1. If voters do not correct the mistake, they couldn’t vote on March 26.
113th district commission in Kyivsky district. There are more than two thousand voters here at all. 700 of them were born in one holiday, January 1 – at least, in lists.
Yelena Bocharova came to the district to correct her date of birth in the list. She knew beforehand that in the list her date of birth is January 1 instead of August 5.
Yelena Bocharova, district resident: “Neighbors and my mother said that there are mistakes in dates of birth – looks like everybody was born on January 1. That’s why I came to check the lists. Really, the year of birth is true, but the date and month of birth are wrong – January 1”.
Personnel of the district commission are acknowledged about phenomena: everyday about ten people came here to correct the data. Commission had not tried to learn why the voters have one birthday for all.
Oksana Zelimova, the member of 113th district commission: “We counted – 28,5% of all list. We have 2023 people in the list at all so approximately one third of list has born on January 1 but the year of birth is pointed right”.
For today only hundred people from 700 have write an application to change the date of birth. The voters have one more week to correct the mistakes in lists. The last day to do it is next Saturday.
