Sigma Group, one of the leading Swedish IT consulting corporation, has been operating in Kharkiv for a year already. In Ukraine Sigma is represented by its local partner Eclipse SP. The major interest for the company in Ukraine is in personnel – Ukrainian specialists became one of the most vital factors determining Sigma’s success in the global market.
“We had been looking for partners in India and Europe for a long time and were impressed by the opportunities Ukraine offered. Cooperation with Ukraine is our strategic choice while it is here that we found specialists whose competence meets world standards. Their knowledge and experience form one of our most crucial assets. That is why we strive to expand our activities in the region,” says Sune Nilsson, CEO of Sigma.
“It is 5 years since Kharkiv company Eclipse SP entered the market. It originates from a small company employing only 6 consultants,” recalls Vladimir Beck, CEO of Eclipse SP. Now it turned into an international company employing over 100 highly skilled consultants. “For a year already Eclipse SP has constituted a part of global group of consultancies Sigma which counts over 1,300 employees in more than 25 cities in 10 countries,” underlines Vladimir Beck.
The Eclipse SP fifth anniversary is celebrated with the colleagues from Sweden. “This cooperation moved the company onto a new level,” – Valery Krasovsky, COO of Eclipse SP. “We received an opportunity to participate in unique projects for the world-known brand names. Now we develop modern corporate information systems and IT-services, Web-applications and real-time systems together with our European colleagues. It is a very valuable experience which enables us to create still more sophisticated solutions.”
New partners contributed to the company’s mastering a new field. “If we talk about specific work, we have accomplished a number of projects, one of them for quite a big company specializing in Internet-games development. This field is rather new for us, nevertheless, this project was successfully completed a month ago,” – says Valery Krasovsky. But the name of the game and the customer for which the game was developed aren’t disclosed yet.
«I could tell you about the peculiarities of the technologies we use, such as Java, .NET, C++ or Flash for hours. But I would rather pay attention to another issue – due to our cooperation with Sigma Group we saw many new countries, visited a lot of new cities, got acquainted and made friends with many new interesting people. Our employees go abroad on business almost every month” emphasizes Valery Krasovsky.
A year of cooperation brought new plans – first Ukrainian-Swedish educational program will be launched in autumn granting 50 Ukrainian students opportunity to coordinate and study business-to-business with the 15 students at Växjö University. As for Eclipse SP, it intends to open offices in other regions of the country and prepares to increase the number of employees – in three years the company expects to employ about 300 consultants – three times as many as it employs now.
