Question of increasing the railway tickets’ price is still undecided. The final decision is not adopted yet. Today the tickets are for sale at the old prices even in a month advance, administration of the South railroad insists.
In April Director General of the “Ukrzaliznytsya” Vasily Gladkih announced about desired increasing the railway tickets’ price from June 1. Anti-Monopoly Committee of Ukraine stands positively against it. The position of the AMC is that there’s no economic basis for the tickets get up.
The last word belongs to the Ministry of Transportation. There’s no any decision yet – nor positive, either negative. Today the tickets go off in the ticket windows at the same prices. If the Ministry would decide to raise the railroad passenger tariff, the Cabinet of Ministers should search for additional costs to compensate the transportation of beneficiaries. As Viktor Kuzmenko, chief assistant of the South railroad said, in the last year only the loss of the South railroad amounted UAH 120 million.

In particular, for the South railroad to compensate the transportation of beneficiaries. If we found an answer to this question, you automatically receive the information about price rising”.
Today the South railroad is preparing for the summer season. In a few days railroad switch on the summer schedule: the timetable would change and the new trains would be added. Administration is checking the working condition of trains and locomotives for the summer traffic. There would be the fresh-painted wagons, new uniform of porters and flowers in the compartments.
