The first place on the festival of amateur theatres in Lviv has won Kharkiv theatre “Publitsist”. In the contest “Drabyna” (“Ladder”) the troupe received two awards at once – for the best directing and the best performance.
Performance “Little stories about love, cosmonauts etc.” was invited for the festival by one of the members of “Drabyna” jury. He saw the spectacle of the theatre “Publitsist” in Kharkiv and asked to bring it for the contest.
“Little stories” are the short stories by Kharkiv writer and actor Andrey Ulyanenko. Stage director Anna Onishchenko says that “Little stories” are written in child’s language but about adult items.
Theatre from East Ukraine participated in the contest “Drabyna” for the first time. Actors say that in the beginning the Lvovians treated the troupe of “Publitsist” cautiously. But then they made friends, Anna Onishchenko says.
Anna Onishchenko, stage director of the theatre “Publitsist”: “We even wanted to invite them to us. For example, performance “Little Prince” of the studio “Suspicious spectator” – even the name of the studio is very interesting. And when “Little Prince” sounds in Ukrainian, this is very meltingly”.
