Shevchenko Theater could receive in this year already the “national” status, the theater directir Margarita sakayan thinks. According to her words, the documents for this investiture are filed to Kyiv already but “bureaucratic delays” may happen.
But the main reason why Shevchenko Theater can’t be national is the President’s ordinance that confirm only three Ukrainian Academician theatres can be national. “But they are three already”, Sakayan said.
But she stressed that Shevchenko Theater that is declared in many countries and considered to be the best theater of a country is worth this status like no other. That is why Shevchenko’s people expect for the change of an enaction.
