Public utility enterprise International airport Kharkiv is to be liquidated. The decision has been taken by city council at the session.
The department dealing with business, investments and consumer market assure that the liquidation is an exclusively technical issue.
Head of the department Andriy Proskurin explains that city authorities can no longer possess property of the enterprise as there is an investor who is ready to lease the airport for a long term 49 years.
The investor is also to pay all the taxes before that the public enterprise enjoyed privileges. Thus, payment for land will constitute 4 mln. hryvnyas together with 2 mln. hryvnas to be paid into city treasury.
To his information, the treaty with the company-holder New Systems AM city was concluded on April 1.
Mayor Mykhaylo Dobkin said that the firm has undertaken to construct a new air terminal building, new terminal capable to receive 1 thousand passengers per hour (now it is 100 passengers), to reconstruct premises, parking lots etc.
The only thing to be financed by the state is take-off runway. Plans of the state are to take it into public ownership. Kharkiv authorities made the condition to give the runway providing the complete financing on the part of Ministry of transport and Communication of Ukraine.
